Bradford City in serious talks to sign Aston Villa’s young star with 16 goals in just a few games.
Aston Villa have revealed the destiny of eight players ahead of the Premier League’s deadline for releases and free transfers.
Three young players will undoubtedly leave the Villans, while five more will be available for free transfer to other teams.
Among those set to go is 18-year-old Jack McDowell, who has already committed to join Queens Park Rangers. The center defender made 12 appearances for Villa in the Under-18 Premier League last season, scoring twice.
Dylan Mitchell and Abube Onunchukwu, both midfielders, are also listed as’released’ on the Premier League website. The former received little attention at youth level, playing only 110 league minutes in 2023/24, whereas Onunchukwu stood out, scoring three goals in 13 games.
Bradford City supporters will remember one of those listed for free transfer: Chisom Afoka, who was loaned to the Bantams for the first half of the season, is eligible to sign. The left winger appeared five times for Bradford in all competitions, but he was recalled in January.
