DENVER — The Denver Broncos are doubling down on their long-term vision, announcing a major reshaping of their football operations structure with the promotion of Reed Burckhardt to Assistant General Manager and a wave of personnel changes throughout their scouting department.
The move reflects a continued commitment from General Manager George Paton to build a sustainable, competitive roster through detailed evaluation and experienced talent development.
Burckhardt Takes Key Step Forward
Reed Burckhardt’s rise to Assistant GM marks a pivotal shift in Denver’s front office. After three seasons as the Broncos’ Director of Player Personnel, Burckhardt will now work even more closely with Paton on high-level roster strategy and personnel decisions. His prior 13-year stint with the Minnesota Vikings, where he served in nearly every scouting capacity from BLESTO scout to Director of Pro Scouting, brings a wealth of experience.
His promotion is seen not just as a reward for his work in Denver, but as a critical step in strengthening the leadership pipeline at the top of the organization.
Revamped Scouting Team Brings Championship Pedigree
The Broncos’ 2025 scouting department overhaul introduces fresh voices with Super Bowl credentials while elevating seasoned internal talent.
Among the most notable additions is Cam Williams, named Co-Director of Player Personnel after a nine-year run with the New England Patriots. Williams contributed to two Super Bowl championships and most recently led college scouting for New England — experience that aligns perfectly with Denver’s commitment to the draft.
Jordon Dizon also re-joins the Broncos as Director of Pro Personnel after a three-year stretch with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he helped scout talent en route to the franchise’s Super Bowl LIX title. Previously with Denver from 2015-2021, Dizon’s return marks a homecoming and a reunion with the Broncos’ front office structure he helped shape.
Internal Talent Recognized Across the Board
In addition to external hires, the Broncos are clearly valuing organizational continuity by promoting several longstanding team members:
-
A.J. Durso was promoted to Co-Director of Player Personnel, reflecting his 13-year tenure and deep NFL experience.
-
Bryan Chesin was elevated to Director of College Scouting after over a decade of service in various roles.
-
Ish Seisay steps into a broader role as Midwest Area/International Scout.
-
Nick Schiralli, in his 18th year with the team, becomes Senior Personnel Executive.
-
Dave Bratten, a Broncos lifer since 1997, rises to Assistant Director of College Scouting.
-
Scott DiStefano, the longest-tenured member of Denver’s football staff with 45 seasons under his belt, is now Senior College Scout.
-
Deon Randall takes over as National Scout after years of diverse scouting roles.
-
Roya Burton, who began with the club in social media, continues her climb in football operations as Player Personnel Coordinator/Scout.
Building for the Future
The Broncos’ front office reshuffle is less about patching holes and more about laying bricks. By blending internal promotions with fresh perspectives from successful organizations like the Patriots and Eagles, Denver is reinforcing a personnel department designed for sustained success.
For George Paton and the Broncos’ leadership, these moves reflect an intention to compete not just on the field in 2025, but to future-proof the franchise’s talent pipeline with smart, experienced decision-makers at every level.
The Broncos aren’t just evaluating players — they’re investing in the evaluators.
