Bundesliga Club Eyes 19-Year-Old Barcelona Prospect as Exit Talks Progress

Barcelona completed their first summer departure on Wednesday, with left-back Alex Valle joining Como on a permanent transfer. Now, another young talent could be on his way out, as Bundesliga side Stuttgart have set their sights on 19-year-old Noah Darvich.

Darvich joined Barça from Freiburg at age 16 for €2.5 million after a standout showing at the U17 European Championship with Germany. Despite his promise, he has struggled to establish himself in Catalonia. He spent his debut season with the U19s and, although called up to the senior squad by Hansi Flick on several occasions, he hasn’t secured a regular role with Barça Atlètic.

Stuttgart Pushing for Permanent Move

According to Kicker, Stuttgart are pursuing a permanent deal for Darvich. Sport adds that Barcelona are open to offers and a transfer could be valued at around €4 million. The main hurdle is that Barça want to retain a buyback clause, while Stuttgart prefer full ownership.

Stuttgart see Darvich as a replacement for Enzo Millot, who is reportedly attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Bayer Leverkusen are also monitoring Darvich’s situation and have inquired about his availability. With Barça Atlètic facing potential relegation to Spain’s fourth tier, the club is more inclined to allow Darvich to move on—ideally to a top league and with a buyback clause in place.

Limited Pathway and Relegation Complicate Matters

Darvich has struggled to fully showcase his talent at Barcelona, and a departure seems logical. His chances of breaking into the first team are slim, given the depth of talent ahead of him, including Toni Fernández, Pablo Torre, Fermín López, Dani Olmo, Gavi, and Pedri.

Meanwhile, the looming relegation of Barça Atlètic only adds to the challenges. To stay up, they must win on the final day and rely on multiple favorable results elsewhere. Dropping to the fourth tier would make it even harder to attract and retain young talent, further encouraging Barcelona to facilitate Darvich’s exit.
