Fabrizio Romano Update: Everton and Nottingham Forest Compete for Striker Compared to Didier Drogba

Everton are reportedly looking to beat Nottingham Forest, West Ham, and Wolves in the race to sign Lazio striker Valentín Castellanos, a player often compared to Didier Drogba.

New Everton manager David Moyes is keen to bolster his attacking options this summer, aiming to help the club push for a top-half Premier League finish next season.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are said to be preparing a bid of up to £29.3 million for Castellanos’ Lazio teammate Mattia Zaccagni, according to Il Messaggero (22 May). Although Zaccagni is their primary target, Forest are also interested in Castellanos and are expected to provide strong competition for his signature.

In the 2024/25 season, Castellanos has scored 10 goals and contributed 5 assists in 28 league appearances. With his contract running until 2028, Lazio are unlikely to let the Argentine forward leave for a low fee.
