JUST IN: BREAKING: Alexander Zverev Places £275k Bet Live on Air with Caroline Wozniacki at French Open

After securing a straight-sets victory over Learner Tien in the first round of the French Open, Alexander Zverev made headlines by placing a six-figure wager with Caroline Wozniacki during a live TV broadcast. The three-time Grand Slam finalist is set to face Jesper De Jong in the second round as he aims to contend for the title in Paris, having been the runner-up in 2024.

Before his match against De Jong, Zverev appeared on TNT Sports and showcased a rare luxury watch from Jacob & Co. The watch, which features a roulette wheel on its face, is valued at an eye-watering £275,000. The brand describes it as a tribute to the stylish gamblers and socialites of 1960s Monte Carlo, Macao, and Las Vegas.

Host Adam Lefkoe expressed his admiration, saying, “It’s hard to concentrate when he’s wearing one of the coolest watches I’ve ever seen in person.”

In a surprising move, Zverev challenged those in the studio to a roulette game, putting his expensive timepiece at stake. “Want to play roulette? Pick a number. If someone guesses it right, they win my watch,” he said.

Caroline Wozniacki, along with Chris Eubanks, Sam Querrey, and Lefkoe, all chose numbers. Fortunately for Zverev, no one guessed correctly, allowing him to keep his prized possession.

This incident follows recent controversy, where Zverev was harshly criticized for calling Lorenzo Musetti a “p****” after their Italian Open match. He had accused Musetti of over-relying on defense and complained about the heavy balls being used.
