Ferencváros, Hungary’s 36-time men’s football champions, have officially welcomed Brazilian midfielder Cadu to their ranks, as the club continues to fine-tune its squad ahead of the new season.
The 26-year-old arrives from Czech giants Viktoria Plzeň, where he recently played a key role in the team’s domestic and European campaigns, including a Europa League run that saw him start against Ferencváros in the quarterfinals.
Born in Salvador, Brazil, Cadu began his professional journey with EC Olímpia and Fluminense. He made his European breakthrough in 2020 with FK Pardubice, helping them win the Czech second division while registering an impressive 15 goals and 13 assists in 72 appearances. His performances earned him a move to Viktoria Plzeň in 2022, though he initially spent a season on loan at Baník Ostrava, where he scored six goals in 28 matches.
Upon returning to Plzeň, Cadu became a regular contributor, amassing 97 appearances and tallying eight goals and 19 assists. Last season alone, he featured in 49 games, netting twice and playing an integral role in the club’s deep Europa League run.
Known for his versatility and relentless work rate, Cadu is capable of operating on either wing in midfield or even as an attacking full-back. His dynamic style and high-intensity play make him a valuable asset in both offensive and defensive phases.
“Cadu brings experience from one of Central Europe’s top leagues and has proven himself both domestically and on the international stage,” said Ferencváros sporting director Tamás Hajnal. “He is a versatile and intelligent player with great stamina and attacking instincts. His arrival will not only raise the overall quality of the squad but also provide our coaching staff with more tactical options.”
