RSC Anderlecht is set to bolster its midfield with a promising North American addition. According to reports from HLN, the Belgian giants have reached an agreement with Major League Soccer’s CF Montréal to sign Canadian international Nathan-Dylan Saliba. The 21-year-old is expected to ink a four-year deal with the Mauves, marking Anderlecht’s fourth signing of a busy summer window.
Saliba, who developed through Montréal’s academy, made his senior debut in 2023 and quickly became a regular fixture in the side. Over two seasons, he has racked up 78 appearances and contributed two goals. This season alone, he’s already featured 18 times, showcasing the kind of consistency and versatility that likely attracted Anderlecht’s attention.
While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, the move signals Anderlecht’s intent to be more aggressive in the market following a slow start to the previous window—a misstep that ultimately led to the dismissal of former head coach Brian Riemer. The club’s early activity this time around suggests a more proactive strategy under its current leadership.
Saliba, already a capped Canadian international, brings not just youthful energy but also growing international experience. His move abroad represents another step forward for Canadian soccer, as more homegrown talent seeks opportunities in Europe’s top leagues.
If all proceeds as expected, Saliba will join the ranks of young Canadian players making waves overseas, while Anderlecht continues its summer rebuild with eyes on returning to domestic and European prominence.
