The New York Rangers have made a strategic offseason move by signing 27-year-old forward Taylor Raddysh to a two-year, $3 million deal—an investment that bolsters their forward depth without straining their salary cap. With an average annual value (AAV) of $1.5 million, the deal reflects both value and potential for a player entering his prime.
Raddysh, a former second-round pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning, brings a mix of size, skill, and experience to the Rangers’ bottom six. Over the course of his NHL career, he’s skated with the Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks, and most recently, the Washington Capitals. In the 2024-25 season with Washington, he logged 27 points (7 goals, 20 assists) across 80 games while averaging just over 12 minutes of ice time per game.
While his most recent season was more subdued offensively, Raddysh has already proven he can produce when given the opportunity. His breakout year came in 2023-24 with the Blackhawks, when he tallied 20 goals and showcased a scoring touch that could prove valuable in a secondary role.
For the Rangers, this signing represents a low-risk, high-reward addition. With several high-salaried stars already anchoring the top six, Raddysh offers a cost-effective solution for rounding out the lineup—bringing versatility, playoff experience, and a scoring upside that could come in handy over a long season.
In a tight Eastern Conference where every edge matters, the Rangers’ decision to add Raddysh is a smart step in fortifying their depth chart and preparing for a deep postseason run.
