Will Bradford City be tempted by any of these free agents?

Another summer of conjecture and gossip has begun, as teams reveal their end-of-season retained lists.

The news of which out-of-contract players are available piques curiosity as another transfer window approaches.

Here are some of the most eye-catching names now available in Leagues One and Two. Will the Bantams include any of these on their roster?

PADDY MACDEN

Chesterfield close in on Stockport County striker Paddy Madden

He led Stockport to the League Two championship but was unable to reach an agreement with the Hatters on a new contract.

Madden will have plenty of fans, and you believe he has something planned.

Graham Alexander knows him well from their time at Scunthorpe, and Madden leaves Edgeley Park with 65 goals in 157 Stockport appearances, including 22 in the club’s victorious season.

Ryan Croasdale.

Croasdale, a midfielder, is another player Alexander has worked with at the Preston academy.

The England C international won the FA Trophy with AFC Fylde before moving to Stockport in 2020. He was a mainstay with the Hatters, appearing in 180 games over three seasons.

Croasdale is a hardworking central defensive midfielder with an impressive motor.

DAN KEMP

The MK Dons offensive midfielder was the ideal foil for Jake Young during their loan spell at Swindon and is expected to draw a lot of interest if he moves in the summer.

Kemp had a productive 2023, when he was one of League Two’s most threatening attackers, scoring 22 goals and giving 10 assists on loan with Hartlepool and Swindon.

Milton Keynes recalled him in January, and he has scored three goals in 21 appearances for Mike Williamson’s side.

Callum Johnson.

Will David Sharpe utilize his Mansfield contacts to try to lure Johnson away from the promoted Stags?

Johnson is a natural wing-back who can also play right center half, and he appeared 22 times for Nigel Clough’s victorious season

Aaron Hayden.

The centre half scored 12 goals to assist Wrexham return to the EFL after a year in the National League.

However, his participation to their second successive promotion was curtailed by injury, limiting him to only 17 games and one goal.

Ben Tozer

A very seasoned center half known for his powerful long throws.

Northampton’s 34-year-old faced the Bantams at Wembley Stadium in the 2013 play-off final.

He guided Cheltenham to the League Two title in 2021 before moving to Wrexham, where he was selected to the National League team of the season.

Tozer played 133 games for North Wales across three years.

ROHAN CURTIS

The former Republic of Ireland winger is pondering a new contract with Wimbledon following a successful recovery from long-term injury.

Curtis, known for his direct style, rose to prominence with Portsmouth, where he scored 57 goals in over 200 games during a six-year span.

However, he was sidelined for about a year due to a catastrophic knee ligament injury, prompting his release from the League One team.
