Even if Watford’s 2023–24 campaign has started out uneventfully, one player at Vicarage Road is still shining.
Yaser Asprilla, a young Colombian, is currently Watford’s most “sellable” asset after players like Joao Pedro and Ismaila Sarr left in the summer, and he has performed admirably in establishing his worth thus far this season.
Asprilla has been a standout performer this campaign, consistently creating magical moments even though it is still far from flawless and still rather raw.
To see what this young guy is capable of, all you have to do is watch his most recent goal against Norwich City.
Watford’s 2023–24 season hasn’t quite gone as planned, but one Vicarage Road player is still standing out.
After players like Joao Pedro and Ismaila Sarr left in the summer, young Colombian Yaser Asprilla is presently Watford’s most “sellable” asset, and he has done a great job so far this season in proving his worth.
This campaign, Asprilla has been a star performer, always producing spectacular moments despite the fact that it is still somewhat raw and far from perfect.
You only need to watch this young man’s most recent goal against Norwich City to realize what he is capable of.
Watford will not sell for less than 40–50 million euros, according to the source, therefore it is unclear if Barcelona or any other team would be willing to pay that amount.
If Asprilla does go, he won’t be the only one—we believe that the next two players are also likely to leave the Hornets in the summer.
Daniel Bachmann has had quite the season, and that is not a good thing.
Things were looking quite positive for the Austrian when Valerien Ismael took over as head coach in the summer. He was named club captain by the new manager, and the team extended an offer to him for a further five years.
But since then, there has been a noticeable downturn, with Ben Hamer surpassing Bachmann to become the starting goalkeeper at Vicarage Road.
Since the Austrian last played in the league in November, it seems doubtful that he will remain with the team this summer.
It is likely that Bachmann will not want to remain the number two for another season, therefore this summer, a loan or, preferably, a permanent move away from Vicarage Road, is in order.
If Yaser Asprilla does leave Vicarage Road, another Watford player who may follow him out the door is Moroccan midfielder Imran Louza.
Louza is a gifted player, but he hasn’t demonstrated it enough at Watford. This, along with the occasional disciplinary problem, has resulted in the player being loaned to FC Lorient in Ligue 1.
Even though he was undoubtedly the first player on the roster when the season began, Louza had clearly lost his spot in the squad under Valerien Ismael before leaving, and if the Frenchman stays, it doesn’t look like he will have much longer at Vicarage Road.
In order to put himself in the running for a summer transfer away from the team, Watford will be hoping Louza does well in France over these last few months of the campaign.
